About Us

Apollo Main Hospital is the one of the first in India and the first in the South to start Bariatric surgery in 2003.

Institute of Bariatrics is the dedicated department kickstarted by Dr.Raj as Centre of Excellence for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery since 2010 with dedicated unit, specialised ward and state-of-the-art operating room dedicated to Bariatric surgery. Bariatric and Robotic Surgery (BAROS) is the brand created to promote the specialty since 2012.

Tipped as one of the leading bariatric surgery centre across the globe known for its highest standard of care and successful surgical outcome, BAROS has won numerous awards and accolades complementing their excellence in bariatric care. With constant addition of clinical and para clinical specialist catering to the need of the patient, BAROS now stands tall with a team of 12 specialist dedicated only to the cause of managing bariatric patients.
